Successful Book Launch for 'Barbary Slave' & 'My Eight Year War'
Scott Pearce
Low November sun, an hour from sunset, air cooling and still 50 people gathered for a book launch at Crabtree’s Café/Bar, Hadleigh High Street, Suffolk, enjoying good company, conversation, and even some pantomime entertainment. Brigand Press and Peter Holland presented both his novel, Barbary Slave, and his uncle Alf's memoir, My Eight Year War. Complimentary wine, coffee and cake complemented a
cosy atmosphere in this 17th century English tearoom. Peter entered, dressed as a brigand. His comic role-play was followed by a talk explaining how Brigand came about, and short readings from both books. With plenty of conviviality and laughter, there were even a number of books sold .
